高孝午1976年生於福建三明，1999年於廈門工藝美術學院雕塑系畢業，2004年於中央美術學院雕塑系結業，現居北京。
高孝午一直秉持「當下即是」的觀點，在藝術上實踐「凡人藝術」。其作品多以輕鬆幽默，溫和無戾氣的方式，
透露隱喻的、非極端的理性思考，表達對社會的關注、批判和反思。
早期代表作有《標準時代》、《城市夢想》、《我們這一代》，近年作品有《軟暴力》、《出入》、《再生》等系列作品。
